National Day in Oman is a public holiday that takes place on November 18th annually. This day is also the birthday of Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said, the former Sultan of the country who was responsible for modernizing Oman. It's one of the most significant dates in Oman’s calendar, with fireworks, events, festivities and gatherings taking place all over the country.

Oman's National Day is celebrated with a variety of events, ceremonies and activities which allow people to show their patriotism and express their love for the country. In all its regions, both government and private sector institutions would let out decorative displays and lights to enhance the festive mood. The citizens and residents usually participate in traditional dances and music, along with various cultural and sports activities organized for this celebration.

This occasion also prompts a time for people to reflect on the progress and development that Oman has seen under the reign of the late Sultan Qaboos. Schools on this day often have special programs, where students prepare different activities to express their love for their country. All of these activities make National Day an opportunity for Omani people to commemorate their past and look forward to their future.
