Quaid-e-Azam Day, also known as Jinnah's Day, is commemorated every year in Pakistan on December 25th. The holiday marks the birth anniversary of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who was the founder of Pakistan and its first Governor-General. This national holiday is among the six that are observed annually and irrespective of the weekday it falls on. Pakistanis inside and outside the country celebrate the day with great enthusiasm to honor their national hero.
The proceedings of Quaid-e-Azam Day usually begin with Qur'an recitation and tributes at Jinnah's mausoleum in Karachi. People from various walks of life visit the mausoleum to lay floral wreaths and pay their respects. Additionally, programs, seminars and exhibitions featuring Jinnah’s life and work are also arranged across the country. National and provincial leadership make speeches and address the nation commemorating the life and achievements of Jinnah.
Quaid-e-Azam Day isn't just a day to remember Jinnah and his achievements, it's also a day to reflect on his vision for Pakistan. The people of Pakistan pledge to uphold the principles of justice and equality that Jinnah had envisioned for the country. On this day, the Pakistani people also appreciate the struggles that their ancestors went through to secure a free homeland that was free from tyranny and oppression.
